The
Greek War of Independence (1821-1827), characterized by continuous sea
battles of Greek privateers against Turkish Egyptian ships, is remembered
mainly for the naval battle of Navarino. Amati's Greek Galliot model, based
on a 19th century engraving, is a faithful reproduction of a typical Greek
galleon of the period.
Keel and frames are pre-cut for trouble free assembly. Fittings and
accessories are highly detailed for an exact replica of the original vessel.
Cannon and carronades are machine turned brass. Oars are pre-shaped and
sanded for your convenience. Other fittings are hardwood, brass and copper.
Rigging line, pre-printed sail material and flag are also included. Clear
plans and easy instructions make building Amati’s Greek Galliot a pleasure.
