RUNNING HARDWARE PACKS AND UPGRADES

Loyalhanna Dockyard Specializes in Running Hardware & Electronics

Selecting the proper type and quality Running Hardware for your model is one of those chores that almost seems like black magic.  Some people just have a knack for this while others don’t.  The problem is that there is no formula to plug numbers into that will then spit out the needed part numbers.  Many times even the kit manufacturer’s suggestions fall short of the mark.  I suspect this happens mostly due to a narrow range of products considered.  This is why we carry Running Hardware from as many sources as possible.  The greater the choice available the more ideal a package can be created.

For those that experience the frustration of selecting hardware for their models, we are here to help.  Let us put our experience to work for you.  Feel free to contact me via E-Mail or Phone (585-494-0027), to discuss your project and your needs.  We can provide as much or as little as desired.  If you have been looking through everything we have to offer and do not see what you think you need, please contact me about this.  We have a machine shop available and in most cases can produce whatever special item you may need from shafts and stuffing boxes to struts or motor mounts.

The same holds true for the electronic side of your project.  Radio Systems, Servos, Motors/Thrusters, Batteries and soon right down to wiring, noise suppression and heat shrink tubing.  We can make recommendations for all of these and supply everything right down to the capacitors if needed.

This service also extends to upgrades for the many Ready-To-Run Boats (RTR) now on the market.  Do you have a Ready-to-Run model that is not up to what you expected?  Drop me an E-Mail and we will see what we can do.

A perfect example of this is the New York City Harbor Tug produced by Imex.  (This kit is available through Loyalhanna Dockyard).  A recent customer had asked if an upgrade to the drive line could be packaged.  He wanted a nice brass 4-blade prop for better looks and thrust as well as a better universal.  We now have a package available that provides the prop, shaft, jam nut, thrust collar and universal joint.  A conversion guide with photos is being prepared and will be included with the parts.  This effort should be complete in the next week or so.

The point of the matter really is, if you have questions, please feel free to contact me.  Building and running your model should be fun and there is no need to get frustrated over the running gear when we can help.
