Germany's Type XXI U-boat, introduced at
the end of WWII, was the first "true submarine." Equipped with a
snorkel for its diesel engines, air conditioning, advanced hydrophones, and
hydrodynamic streamlining, it could operate submerged continuously and
influenced postwar submarine design for decades.
Each kit

upper and lower epoxy GRP hull halves with scribed detail.

GRP conning tower.

resin turrets with moveable brass gun barrels.
- Cast
resin control surfaces with shafts.
- Photo
etched brass deck detail set.
- Cast
hull drain/flood grates.
- Periscopes
and RDF loop.
- Stainless
steel propeller shafts with thrust bearings.
- Cast
resin WTC mounts and thrust bearing bulkhead.
- Control
linkage set (includes mounting plates, control arms, etc. for rudder
& stern planes and bow planes).
- Two
metal propellers.
