RAF CRASH TENDER 1/16 SCALE - 34.5” X 10.5” This is an accurate scale model of an RAF Crash Tender, two of which were built by Vosper for the Royal Air Force in the early 1950s, where their official title was ’46 foot Firefloat Mk 2'. The hull was copied from the original Shipbuilder's plans, so it has all the elegant flared hull sections and flowing lines of the real thing, which a feature that was completely missing from the slab-sided and none too accurate all plywood kit version of the same boat that many will remember from years ago. The scale drawing for this model has been copied largely from old Vosper drawings and other contemporary material, and it differs appreciably from other published versions. The hull is molded with the keel, and also a raised gunwale rubbing strake. Price: |
