FEBRUARY – 2005 - NEWSLETTER

We hope that you are having better weather than we are here in Buffalo, NY. We just finished a week of heavy snow with "High" temperatures in the single digits and lows at -20 degrees.
What's New:
We would like to share information about soon-to-be released new products: First, the famous german battleship Bismarck is now in the works and will be available in 1/72nd scale. (Click Here for Additional Information) A Superstructure and fittings set will also be developed for this model. The entire kit should be available by summertime. After the 1/72nd scale is complete, the same manufacturer will be developing the Bismarck in 1/96th scale. We will keep you updated.
We have also been told that there will be more Hovercraft Models available throughout 2005, that will emcompass many new and exciting features.
For those with a passion for WWII Landing Craft, the fittings set for our 1/48th scale LCI Hull will be available by late February. The set for the LSM & LSM(R) will be ready by May. These are complete fittings sets developed specifically for these Hulls but would also apply to scratch built models of this type and scale. These fittings in combination with the Hull and available Running Hardware Package give us semi-kits for these two (2) popular ships. Photos of the fittings will follow as soon as they are available.
Other fittings sets soon to be available are the 1/32nd scale U-Boat Fittings. These should be available in late Spring.
Current Events:
For those who live within driving distance of white Plains, NY, the WRAM Show is February 25, 26 & 27th. This trade Show has increased it's exposure of Radio Control and Static Boats greatly over the past few years and is no longer just specializing in Airplanes. Loyalhanna Dockyard will be attending with a booth along with several other R/C Boat Manufacturers. There will be a static judging competition with CASH prizes awarded for the first three (3) Places. So you might want to bring along your latest creation. Even if you do not have a model to enter, a visit should be considered as a lot can be learned by studying the models on display. Of course, if you do attend the Show, you should stop by our booth and say hi!! This will provide the chance to look over first hand many of the products we have mentioned in the past.
As there are many people that won't be able to attend we will provide a Show Report complete with pictures in next months Newsletter. Due to the timing of the Show, the next month's Newsletter will be about a week or so later than usual to provide the time to compose the WRAM Show report and include the photos.
Taubman Plans Service Update:
Work is continuing on a New Plans Website to replace the current Taubman Website.
The New Site should be up in about a week. The new site will contain everything on the existing site with thousands more in addition. We will be adding daily to the site as we want to get it up and still have Plans to add. So keep checking back for the latest.......
Additionally, we have uncovered several New Sources of Plans from around the world. Every one of these plans will be added to the website and catalog. I am sure that many of our readers know of sources unknown to us. If you would llike to share these sources we would be happy to contact the suppliers and add their products to our list of Plans available world wide.
Pop-Up Manufacturing Update:
Work has begun to put the Sailboat Kits back into production. Part of this work involves creating a new instruction manual and incorporating any enhancements that might be needed. If anyone reading this has built on of these kits and has any suggestions to make we would be happy to listen. Any pictures of completed models would also be welcome. Thanks in advance to all that can help in this matter.
